Artificial intelligence rules have changed

The EU's AI regulation came into effect in August. The enforcement period will not begin for a couple of years, but the regulation could mean significant changes for companies and organizations utilizing AI.


The AI regulation does not restrict most AI systems, but certain systems face very stringent restrictions. These high-risk systems include those used in recruitment and critical infrastructure.


Lawyer Herkko Hietanen, who specializes in AI law, explains that companies using high-risk systems should start preparing for the regulation now. Companies may face a substantial list of requirements and guidelines that they must follow.
